How doesFloraGLO®Lutein work?
Lutein (pronounced LOO-teen) is a carotenoid (natural pigment) found ingreen leafy vegetables, corn and eggs. It functions as an antioxidant,protecting healthy cells from damage caused by free radicals, whilealso filtering out potentially-dangerous, high-energy blue light fromthe visible light spectrum.
After ingestion, lutein is deposited in the eyes, specifically in themacula and the lens. The macula, located in the center of the retina,is responsible for producing the sharp, central vision needed to seefine detail (for reading, sewing, etc.).
